Swimming season started in Berlin

(LEVEL ONE * NIVEL UNO )
It is still cold outside. But it didn't stop swimmers in Berlin. Berlin is the capital of Germany. People started to swim outside in Berlin. Snow didn't stop them.

There was no ice in the water. But the water was very cold. One man who swam in the cold water hopes that spring will come soon. The swimmers went to sauna after the swimming. The sauna was for free.
Did you think the spring is coming? No, the spring isn’t coming. There will be more snow at the weekend in Berlin.
Interesting words: capital (most important city in the country where a president lives), sauna (room with very high temperature where people sit).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.

(Level 3)
It may still feel freezing cold outside but
in Berlin that

hasn't stopped these brave swimmers taking the plunge. Yeah, that's right. The bathing season has started in the German capital and not even something like a little bit of snow was going to stop them.

"It's more like ice swimming although there is no ice anymore. I am hopeful that spring will arrive one day."
But it wasn't so bad. Those who were courageous enough retreated to a free entry to the sauna afterwards and if you thought spring was on its way this Easter, weather forecasters are predicting more snow in Berlin over the weekend.
Interesting words: take the plunge (do something important), courageous (brave), retreat (move away from something). http://www.newsinlevels.com/products/swimming-season-started-in-berlin-level-3/
